The Garden of Abdul Gasazi is a best-selling childrens picture book written in 1979 by the American author Chris Van Allsburg. It tells the story of how young Alan Mitz loses Fritz a dog he is caring for when Fritz runs away and disappears into the garden of Abdul Gasazi the Great a retired dog-hating magician. When Alan meets Mr. Gasazi and asks him to give Fritz back a spell seems to be cast over the dog.
